What is ‘Human Security Orchestration Automation and Remediation’ or ‘Human SOAR’ or HSOAR?

Gartner in 2017 coined the term ‘Security Orchestration Automation and Remediation’ as a category, similar to SIEM.

Over 90% of all data breaches can be traced back to vulnerabilities in the human layer, human errors including phishing, according to independent studies by Verizon, IBM and others in 2018.

If 90% of data breaches are because of humans, shouldn’t the industry address this challenge as a matter of urgency?

I would like to extend the SOAR term to ‘Human SOAR’ or ‘HSOAR’ as a category.

As a proud investor in a platform called ‘HumanFirewall’, this area fascinates me, and I would like to bring together the collective knowledge of industry practitioners to build on this category.

OBJECTIVE: Humans are the weakest link in cyber security. What can be done to make them a ‘Line of defence’ instead of being the weakest link?

I aim to bring together industry professionals to share their knowledge and experience on things they have done in their organisations that helped them realise the dream of ‘Human Security Orchestration Automation and Remediation’.
